This tour gives you an opportunity to observe the striking contrasts that make Athens such a fascinating city. Our expert guides will take you to see the Panathenaic Stadium where the first Olympic Games of modern times were held in 1896. After a short stop, continue and pass by such significant monuments of Hellenic history as the Temple of Olympian Zeus, Hadrian’s Arch, the Parliament and the memorial to the Unknown Soldier, the Academy, University, National Library and the Constitution Square (Syntagma). Find yourselves in the Acropolis, where you will experience architectural masterpieces of the Golden Age of Athens, including the Propylaea, the Temple of Athena Nike, the Erechtheion and finally “the harmony between material and spirit”, the monument that “puts order in the mind”, the magnificent Parthenon. Continuing your tour, a visit to the modern Acropolis Museum is in order. Nearly 4,000 objects from the Greek Bronze Age to Roman and Byzantine Greece can be found there.
Your soul may be filled, but now it's time to treat your stomach with a traditional Greek lunch at a local restaurant. After lunch, drive along the coastal road, passing the wonderful beaches of Glyfada, Vouliagmeni & Varkiza to the Southernmost point of Attica, Cape Sounion, where the white marble pillars of the Temple of Poseidon still stand.
