This tour is comprised of a round trip through North Peloponnese and Central Greece, with stops to several points of interest, both of historical and of cultural nature. Experience ancient Greek history and loaf around like a local in charming towns in an amalgamation of destinations that will appeal to all kinds of travelers.

Starting from Athens, we will take the coastal road south and enter Peloponnese via the impressive Corinth Canal and reach the Theater of Epidaurus, a monument to the performing arts. We'll use the beautiful and charming town of Nafplion as our base in Peloponnese and launch expeditions to Mycenae, an important bronze age citadel, and Ancient Olympia, the cradle of the Olympic Games. We will traverse all of North Peloponnese and cross back into Central Greece through the Rio-Antirio bridge and make our way to Delphi, home to the famous Oracle in the Temple of Apollo. After we explore the site that served as a religious hub in antiquity, we will make our way back to Athens via the fertile plains of Boetia.

  • Day 1 - Athens to Nafplion via the Corinth Canal
    Starting from Athens early in the morning (departure at approx 8:45) we will take the coastal road South and exit the Athenian peninsula via the Corinth Canal, where we'll take a short stop for pictures. Now in Peloponnese, we are back on the road and will make our way to the Theater of Epidaurus, on of the most famous theaters in the entire world, known for its incredible acoustics. Once we've explored the site, we will proceed to Nafplion, a charming town that served as the first capital of modern Greece. We will stop here for the night and you will have the opportunity to explore the town's nightlife and its iconic waterfront which has a view to the fortress of Bourtzi!

  • Day 2 - Nafplion to Olympia via Mycenae
    Take advantage of your free time in the morning to explore the town and pick up mementos of your trip. Nafplion is a town of artists, so quaint craft shops and galleries can be found all around. Alternatively, you can chose to hike up the walls to Akronafplia, the walls surrounding the town. Around noon, we will depart for Mycenae, an important bronze age citadel where we will visit the archaeological site and nearby museum. In the Mycenae complex you can find the Tomb of King Agamemnon, the Cyclopean Walls and the Lion's Gate, among many others. From there, we will depart for Olympia, the cradle of the Olympic games, through the scenic routes of Central Peloponnese, as well as the towns of Tripolis and Megalopolis. It is there that we will stop for the night for some well-earned rest.

  • Day 3 - Olympia to Delphi
    We simply can't visit Olympia and not pay tribute to the ruler of Mount Olympus, so in the morning we'll pay a visit to the Sanctuary of Olympian Zeus, in the complex of Ancient Olympia. There we will also find the Stadium which housed the Olympic Games of antiquity. Before we leave, we shall visit the Archaeological Museum which features thousands of artifacts found in the grounds of the site. Afterwards, we will hop back on the bus and drive through the plains of Ilia and Achaia, and the bridge of Rio-Antirio which connects the two sides of the Corinthian Bay. Back in Central Greece, we will pass through the picturesque towns of Nafpaktos and Itea, to arrive in Delphi, our very own sanctuary for the night.

  • Day 4 - Delphi and Return to Athens via Arachova, Levadia and Thebes
    In the morning, we will visit the archaeological site of Delphi, a place of immense spiritual importance for ancient Greeks. It is there that kings found themselves before each war campaign, consulting the Oracle before taking action. As we climb up the hill of the site we will find treasuries from ancient city-states like Athens and Sifnos, altars, the ancient theater and the stadium which housed the Pythian Games. However, the crowning jewel of the complex is the Temple of Apollo, in the center of which you can find the chamber of the Oracle. Before we depart from Delphi we will pay a visit to the Archaeological Museum, which houses thousands of artifacts, the most important of which is undoubtedly the bronze statue of the Charioteer, dedicated to Polyzalus of Gela. Afterwards, we will make our way back to Athens passing through the picturesque village of Arachova, and the quaint towns of Levadia and Thebes.
