5 Days Classical Tour

History comes to life in this classical five day tour of the Greek mainland! Visit all of the places immortalized in Greek history and experience a mixture of Classical Greece and Byzantium sprinkled with charming towns and quaint villages!

Starting from Athens, we'll cross the imposing Corinth Canal into Peloponnese and head south till we reach the Theater of Epidaurus, where the works of Socrates, Aristophanes and Euripides came to life! We'll settle for the night on the picturesque town of Nafplion, a refuge of the artistic spirit, which is a perfect marriage between the Hellenic and Venetian cultures. From there, we can launch an expedition to the Bronze Age citadel of Mycenae, where the Tomb of King Agamemnon lies. Our last destination before we depart from Peloponnese will be Ancient Olympia, the birthplace of the Olympic Games. In the archaeological site you can see the stadium that hosted the games that became synonymous with peace among nations, as during the Games, all conflicts would cease to allow for the competitions to go ahead.

We'll now cross back into Central Greece, this time from its Southwest end and head to Delphi, famous for its Oracle located in the Temple of Apollo. The central role the Oracle played in Ancient Greece is encapsulated by its given nickname 'the navel of the world'. Last but not least, we will head north for a taste of Byzantium. Settling in the quaint town of Kalambaka, we will start an excursion to the iconic Meteora, a geological marvel of vast, rock pillars rising up from the serene valley below to create a unique spectacle that is a testament to wonders of nature. On top of the pillars, stand ageless Byzantine Monasteries, of immeasurable historical and religious importance. A truly remarkable spectacle that needs to be experienced by every visitor to Greece!
