After your personal driver picks up your party from your hotel, you will drive to the Palace of Knossos, the cradle of the Minoan civilization and one of the most important sites in all of Greece. The area has served as a cultural and economic hub for the people of Crete since the Neolithic era and your personal guide will shed light on the mythology that surrounds the Palace during the 2 hour tour of the site, that will commence upon your arrival. You will have ample opportunity to explore every inch of the structure and of course see the iconic Throne Room which is believed to have at one point served as the private quarters of King Minoas himself!
Once the guided tour of the Palace concludes, your drive will transport you back to Heraklion, where you will stroll down the city's historic center. Irrevocably tied to its marine past, Heraklion features many interesting sites, with the Venetian harbor being particularly impressive. Staying in the city and onto the recently renovated Archaeological Museum, featuring the most extensive collection of Minoan artefacts in the world! Jewelry, sculptures, frescoes and even sarcophagi can be found among the exhibits, with the iconic Phaistos Disc, whose symbols still remain a mystery to archaeologists to this day.
Once you leave the museum, your driver will transport you back to your hotel in style!
