This package is designed for first-time travelers and veterans alike, to include a variety of different locations that expose the make different facets of Greece. Arriving in Athens, you will be amazed at how intertwined the ancient world is, in a modern city setting. Walking around the vast metropolis you will stumble onto ancient ruins next to lounge cafes and historical monuments adjacent to deluxe restaurants. A city proud of its heritage, Athens strives to exhibit its brilliant past without forgetting its promising future. Alas, it goes without saying that a Greek vacation is never complete without a trip in the Aegean islands.
First stop on your sea voyage is the volcanic island of Santorini. A romantic place of stunning sunsets, picturesque settings and fine wine all wrapped up in a small, crescent-shaped present. Sailing is big on the island and it is the only way to access some of the incredible monochromatic beaches laid with volcanic pebbles. A dose of tradition is in order and you will find plenty of that in Crete. The vast island on the south of Greece is home to numerous local delicacies based on a combination of Mediterranean products and oriental spices. Sightseeing is a must, with the Palace of Knossos, the marvel of the Minoan civilization, being the most obvious choice. Last but certainly not least, comes Rhodes. Sitting on the edge of the Dodecanese, not far from the Turkish coast, Rhodes is an amalgamation of the different civilizations that have at one point or another been present on the island. Ancient Greece, Rome, Byzantium, the Ottoman Empire and the Order of the Knights of Saint John, have all contributed to create Rhodes' unique cultural identity. From the Medieval Town to Hellenistic temples, the island seems like a history book coming alive.
